BIOGRAPHY

Artist Mandy Powell

I was born in Richmond, Virginia, earning my bachelor’s and master’s degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, where I studied Literature, Art, and Early Child Education. Being a part of the VCU culture helped develop my skills as an artist and introduced me to the fine arts community that surrounds the downtown Richmond area. I commissioned several murals in Richmond before leaving in 2005 for Germany. While living abroad, I was able to explore and enjoy some of the most amazing museums and historical art, including the Louvre, the Sistine Chapel, and Van Gogh’s Museum which has inspired and touched my artist soul.  I currently live in Manassas, Virginia with my new husband and two children. I'm a current member of several northern Virginia art societies and a resident artist at both studios listed below. I consider myself a mixed media artist, as I enjoy tinkering with different collage techniques and textures with my acrylics. Please click around and enjoy!
